I'm here to announce a few changes that will be happening beginning in October.
First, the bad news. As of October 3rd Press Start to Play will be closing as a business. Its been a wonderful 8 years being here and serving you all. I've loved playing with, talking to, getting to know, and seeing all of you that have been coming since we opened in 2013. I'll still be around the community but I've decided it is time to move on and explore other paths personally and professionally.
The good news however, is that the store itself will still remain. It won't be PSTP anymore, and will look a bit different, but the LGS will still remain under the stewardship of the wonderful people of V-Sports Arena, where we are currently located. They have decided to take up the mantle of LGS as well as all of the other exciting things they do with their business. They love, live and breathe gaming in all forms, and I have the utmost confidence that they will continue the legacy that Tanner and I have established in running this place. They are excited to undertake this new adventure and I hope that you all will continue to come in, game together, buy, sell, trade, hang out, argue about various MTG card interactions, which was the best video game of all time, and if a cat token deck can truly become the best and most competitive deck of all time in all formats (ok, I might be a bit biased on that last one...)
What this really means for all of you. Ideally, not much really. Store will open back up on October 6th and will follow the operating hours of the arcade going forward. All events and announcements will be communicated through V-Sports Arena's page and their other social media. I'll still be monitoring this page and the messenger if any of you have any questions however. Likely even past the Oct 3rd date, so feel free to reach out if you need to!
Lastly if you currently have credit on file here you will need to use it before we close on Oct 3rd. It does expire when we do. We will do what we can to accommodate those of you that cannot make it in before then, but it will be much harder to do so after Oct 3rd, so try to keep that in mind and I will be communicating that to everyone that I know has credit when I see you.
Thank you all so much for making this place such a success and a wonderful part of my life. I'll probably still see a few of you around the commander table from time to time :) Stay safe out there!
