Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

At the heart of EVERY BRILLIANT THING is a deceptively simple idea: making a list of the things that make life worth living.

The little things.
The ridiculous things.
The people we love.
The moments we don’t realize matter until they do.

Every Brilliant Thing doesn’t shy away from depression or su***de. But it approaches those subjects with humor, warmth, honesty, and an extraordinary belief in the importance of human connection.

That is why we are proud to bring this production to North Idaho College in collaboration with the University of Idaho.

We hope it creates space for conversation.
We hope it reminds people to check in with one another.
And we hope everyone who sees it leaves thinking about the brilliant things in their own life.

⭐ September 17 & 18 | 7:00 p.m.
📍 Schuler Performing Arts Center, Boswell Hall
🎟️ FREE ADMISSION

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

What’s one brilliant thing? ⭐

Something small. Something ordinary. Something that makes the world just a little bit better.

A favorite song.
The smell of coffee.
Dogs who are excited to see you.
A really good book.
Making someone laugh.
Coming home.

At the heart of EVERY BRILLIANT THING is a growing list of reasons life is worth living—and we want to hear yours.

What’s one brilliant thing you would put on the list?

Tell us in the comments. ⭐

Then join North Idaho College and the University of Idaho when Every Brilliant Thing comes to Coeur d’Alene next week:

Three things to know before you see EVERY BRILLIANT THING. ⭐

1. It’s funny. Really funny.
Yes, Every Brilliant Thing explores depression, loss, and mental health—but it does so with enormous warmth, humor, and joy.

2. This isn’t a typical night at the theatre.
One performer tells the story, but the audience becomes part of the experience. Every performance is a little different because the people in the room help create it.

3. It’s about the things that make life worth living.
Ice cream. Staying up past your bedtime. People falling over. Really good music. The list starts small—and keeps growing.

North Idaho College and the University of Idaho are bringing this extraordinary play to Coeur d’Alene for two nights only.

What would you put on your list?

For the last slide of the carousel, I’d make it simply:

A first look at EVERY BRILLIANT THING. ⭐

What begins as a list of everything worth living for becomes a funny, moving, and deeply human exploration of hope, connection, and the brilliant things—big and small—that surround us every day.

This September, North Idaho College and the University of Idaho come together to bring Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe’s EVERY BRILLIANT THING to the Schuler Performing Arts Center.

Two theatre programs. One remarkable play.

This September, North Idaho College and the University of Idaho are coming together for a special co-production of EVERY BRILLIANT THING by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe.

For five years, the University of Idaho has presented this funny, moving, and life-affirming play in connection with su***de awareness. This year, for the first time, the production is coming to North Idaho College.

For us, this collaboration is about more than a single production. It’s an opportunity to build stronger connections between NIC and the University of Idaho—and to create new educational and artistic opportunities for our students.

We can’t wait to share Every Brilliant Thing with the Coeur d’Alene community.
