Here's a sneak peek at Rhythms of America 🎶

Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" with guest pianist Roger McVey. It opens with that famous clarinet slide, and then the piano takes over.

Howard Hanson's "Symphony No. 2", Romantic, a big, sweeping American symphony. Movie fans may recognize it, since part of it plays over the end credits of Alien.

We'll also play Copland's An Outdoor Overture, and more.

The concert runs about 1 hour 40 minutes, including intermission, so it's a great fit for families and first-timers.

Meet the guest artists joining us for Rhythms of America this Saturday! 🎷🎹

Michael Keepe, saxophone: Many of you already know Michael from his teaching at Eastern Washington University and Lakeland High School, and from the North Idaho Saxophone Academy he founded. He has shared the stage with Bernadette Peters, The Temptations and the Cab Calloway Orchestra. Now he's sharing it with us, performing I Love Gershwin!

Roger McVey, piano: Roger is Head of Keyboard Studies at the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music and a Steinway & Sons Hall of Fame Teacher. He has performed across the U.S., Europe, Asia, Mexico and New Zealand. On Saturday, he takes on Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, and you'll know it from the very first note.

Two outstanding musicians from our own region are opening our 47th season. We can't wait for you to hear them!
