In Esther 2, we watched God quietly move behind the scenes.

Esther became queen. Mordecai was positioned at the king’s gate. He uncovered an assassination plot and saved the king’s life. Even though he received no recognition, his faithfulness was permanently recorded.

From it, we learned five important truths:
1. God is working even when we can’t see Him.
2. God can use me the way He made me.
3. My ordinary life is God’s assignment.
4. God is preparing what I can’t see yet.
5. My faithfulness is never wasted.

When we put these truths together, we came to one conclusion:
I have been positioned for a purpose.

“It’s just one drunken party.”
“It’s just one kiss.”
“It’s just one thing.”

That’s how compromise starts.

Mordecai refused to compromise, even when it would have been easier to go along with everyone else. He was willing to stand firm because his desire was to honor God above everything else.

Following God sometimes means saying NO when everyone around you is saying yes.

The question is: Are you willing to stand for God when it costs you something?

Following Jesus means we don’t negotiate with the things God has called us to surrender.

In Lee’s sermon, we were challenged to ask God to reveal the things in our hearts that may not seem like a problem today, but could become a problem tomorrow.

Haman thought he was choosing the date, but God was already working behind the scenes to create a window for deliverance.

What looks random to us is never outside God’s control.
You may not understand what God is doing right now, but you can trust that He sees the whole picture.
