🎭Director Spotlight: Donna Lynn Murray🎭

🩵Our fearless leader! She simply shares that “Doing theatre’ is rewarding, period. Just like the line in A Chorus Line, I do it for love. It feeds my soul. This is a very accomplished and experienced cast but what surprised me the most, was how difficult it was to create a real person. We have usually done shows that are fantastical with bigger- than-life characters. Portraying real life people was very difficult. Thankfully we were able to watch many interviews of the people involved and our cast was able to study these to help develop their characters.

🩵She explains, “This show demonstrates that there are good people from all over the world. We tend to focus on the negative because we get bombarded through news media and social media with the misconception that we need to fear strangers and people that may not look or sound like we do. This show contradicts this premise and gives me hope for our world. I’ve never directed a show consisting of an ensemble cast before. I’ve acted in one and I remember how close we became as a cast. I hope this cast has had the same experience.

🩵She concludes, “I hope if anyone is interested in joining our group that you come talk to us. We love getting new people involved.  There are so many ways to be involved from acting, set building,  marketing,  costuming,  tech- lights, sound, music. It takes a village.”

It’s OPENING WEEK! One of our final cast spotlights this week is the wonderful…

🎭𝙆𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙙𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙧 𝙖𝙨 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖𝙝 & 𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨🎭

Kennedy has been a long time CCT member. Her first show on stage with CCT was in 2006 as a child in A Christmas Carol, but in 2003 my dad was in Little Shop of Horrors and that meant could usually be found at rehearsals.

When it comes to this show, she says,
“I think this story is just as relevant, if not more so, now than ever. There is so much division in the world and even in our own neighborhoods, so it’s inspiring to hear stories of empathy and people coming together for one another.”

“Ever since high school, I’ve almost always played roles of “motherly figures” and this show takes that to the next level- I have to not only show motherly care, but go through the stages of worry and grief that I’ve never yet had to experience. Not only does it make me stretch my abilities as an actor, but it gives me a new perspective on life and living every day to the fullest with those you love.”

🎭Kjelden George as Bob & Others 🎭

Come From Away is Kjelden’s second production with CCT.

A new dad of one and husband to Assistant Director, Aili George, Kjelden has been welcomed into the theatre family by marriage!

✈️He says, “It’s kind of a funny story, I had not planned on auditioning due to the major time commitment this show carries. I helped with auditions and Donna Lynn approached me and asked why I hadn’t auditioned, I let her know and she let me know they’d work with my schedule. However, I do love the story and the message that comes with the show. Anybody could have been on either side of the situation, and we now can look at it and learn what we can do to help others in need, or be willing to accept the help when we need

✈️ He shares, “The thing that stood out to me was their willingness to give. My character has a thing going on where he’s told to go get the grills out of peoples backyards and he says, “They helped me steal their own barbecues!”

HUGE THANKS to Larry Ge**er and Sean Murray who sat down with cast members Taylor Reeder & Miranda at The Coconut Telegraph Podcast this weekend to chat about Come From Away!

A fine example of community collaboration. We hope everyone takes the time to listen! Link below!

Howdy Friends! The Coconut Telegraph is back! Sean and Larry had to do this episode twice......again......but our wonderful guests, Taylor Reeder and Miranda Marks, were very patient; both conversations were great. Miranda and Taylor represent the Cody Community Theater. They came to talk to us about their upcoming production of "Come From Away". This story is amazing and if you are in the Cody area you NEED to go. We had a great conversation about acting, Santa, Rock #10, passion, the Arts, and bourbon. Please listen and share.
We also have the return of friend of the show, Preston Randolph, from Cactus Productions. That's right, he's back with another wonderful movie review.

We need to thank Cody Craft Brewing, Wyo Dough, and Libations for hosting!
