Lisa Norman is a western and wildlife artist from Buffalo, WY. Her work has been collected across the U.S. and abroad and has received numerous awards for merit and Peopleโs Choice. She enjoys sharing her creative journey and insights through teaching both in person and through her online classes. She is an avid outdoor lover/adventurer and her insatiable love for the west and all those who appreciate it, is reflected in her work.
The 2026 Cody Stampede poster design was influenced by her admiration of Charlie Russellโs work. This year marks the 100th anniversary of his passing. In homage to his incredible documentation of the old west, Lisa researched some of his illustrated letters. He often accompanied his writings with lively drawings of his experiences. This collage of images includes a cowboy from the past, the first American flag, Heart Mountain, Buffalo Bill in action, and a modern-day Cody rodeo bronc rider. Charlie often included a cowts skull in his paintings, and youโll see one in the grass in this design as well. The poster is a celebration of our countryโs 250th birthday, the enduring legacy of the Stampede rodeo, and the time-honored traditions of the west.
