Recently, the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale had the privilege of sponsoring the 54th annual Prix de West, one of the nation's premier exhibitions of Western art. As part of that partnership, BBAS Director Katelyn Parker had the opportunity to attend the events in person, an experience that was both inspiring and surreal after years of admiring the show from afar.
Among the remarkable collection of artists represented were many who will be featured in the 2026 Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, including Greg Beecham Studio, Russellcaseart, Walter Matia, Dustin Payne Studio, T.D. Kelsey, Kevin Red Star, Ralph Oberg, Sandy Scott, Kyle Sims Wildlife Art, Matt Smith, Tucker Smith, and Joshua Tobey Studios.
The week was made even more exciting by the recognition of two artists shared by both shows. Walter Matia received the Robert Lougheed Memorial Award, honoring his exceptional body of work, while G. Russell Case earned the Wilson Hurley Memorial Award for outstanding artistic merit in landscape painting.
The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale extends its congratulations to all participating artists and its sincere appreciation to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum team for hosting such an extraordinary celebration of Western art. It was an honor to support the event and witness firsthand the talent, dedication, and camaraderie that continue to shape the contemporary Western art community.
