Joseph Usewicz’s Tamiami Trail is an ongoing photographic exploration of one of Florida’s most historic and overlooked roadways. Traveling the corridor from Tampa to Miami, he documents the evolving landscape through images of fading motels, roadside landmarks, aging architecture, suburban development, and unexpected moments of everyday life.
Blending documentary observation with a strong sense of place, Usewicz’s photographs reveal the layered narratives of Florida’s Gulf Coast—its histories, aspirations, nostalgia, and continual reinvention. His work invites viewers to look beyond the familiar and discover the enduring stories embedded within this iconic American roadway.

Brett Moffatt is a contemporary realist who crafts visual narratives that reimagine the femme fatale archetype for the modern age. Working across oil painting, watercolor, photography, and film, he creates richly layered works that blur the boundaries between classic noir aesthetics and modern sensibilities. Each piece begins as an elaborately staged tableau, with Moffatt directing live models adorned in carefully curated vintage attire against meticulously constructed sets.

His signature style employs dramatic chiaroscuro and calculated composition to envelop his subjects in an atmosphere of magnetic allure. While drawing inspiration from cinema’s golden age, Moffatt’s work transcends mere homage—his femme fatales are complex protagonists who command their own narratives rather than exist solely as objects of desire. The resulting pieces create an immersive world where glamour and tension coexist, beauty carries an edge of danger, and seduction serves as a form of power.

Through his multidisciplinary approach, Moffatt explores themes of agency, mystique, and the performative nature of identity. His work has garnered recognition for its technical virtuosity and psychological depth, offering viewers a sophisticated meditation on desire, visibility, and the enduring appeal of feminine mystique in contemporary culture.

33 Contemporary Gallery is pleased to present New Zip Code, a solo exhibition by Cuban-American artist Arlet Gómez.

On view June 5–30, 2026, the exhibition will be presented inside the beautiful Palm Beach Art & Design Showroom in Lake Worth Beach, Florida.

New Zip Code explores childhood, imagined cities, migration, and the spiritual longing for eternal dwelling places through Gómez’s textured contemporary visual language. Created through layered surfaces of oil and acrylic, the works bring together neo-expressionist brushwork, impressionistic light, and symbolic architectural forms that speak to memory, displacement, faith, and the search for belonging.

Throughout the exhibition, children appear as dreamers—figures of imagination, hope, and spiritual resilience—while embedded toy soldiers from the artist’s childhood in Cuba emerge as symbolic antagonists. Houses, castles, boats, and imagined cities become emotional and spiritual structures, fragile yet full of longing.

The exhibition also includes an installation of minimal wooden structures inspired by digital wireframe models, extending Gómez’s imagined architectures into the gallery space and inviting visitors to move through a psychological landscape of memory, vulnerability, and hope.

Please join us for the opening reception honoring the artist:
