Hayam Elsayed has been passionate about fine art from a young age. She finds great joy in creating her paintings, often drawing inspiration from life and nature. While she appreciates various art styles, realism remains her favorite. As a realism artist, her approach to subject matter is to depict it as it truly appears in life. However, she also admires other styles, such as impressionism and abstract art. For instance, Vincent Van Gogh is among her favorite artists whose work reflects these styles. Hayam also draws inspiration from American artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, known for her iconic flower paintings, and Thomas Kinkade, celebrated for his realism. Additionally, she has developed a fascination with the realism of Renaissance portraits by masters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Sandro Botticelli. Michelangelo, in particular, inspires her with his skillful use of light to dramatically emphasize specific points in his compositions.

Francesca Dalla Benetta creates surreal sculptures that combine human faces and bodies with organic textures, skins, and unexpected elements to give form to fantastical beings. Drawing from both Italian anatomical tradition and the exuberant imagination of Mexico, her work explores identity, belonging, self-perception, and the tension between individual experience and social conventions.

With eyes often closed and figures suspended in intimate, otherworldly states, Dalla Benetta invites viewers to look inward and consider the masks we adopt to be accepted. Her sculptures transform complex questions about identity, perception, and reality into tangible, enduring forms, occupying the space between the classical and the surreal.

Mary Davidson is a Massachusetts-based painter whose work explores themes of tranquility, spirituality, and the natural world. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she lives and works in South Egremont. Davidson studied fashion design at Newbury College in Boston and continued her artistic education through drawing and painting studies with renowned instructors including Don Andrews, Judi Betts, Jim Schantz, and Pat Hogan.
A widely exhibited artist, Davidson has shown her work throughout New England and has received numerous awards, including two Best in Show honors. Her paintings are held in private collections, and she is an elected artist of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts as well as a juried member of several distinguished organizations, including the Kent Art Association, the New Haven Paint & Clay Club, and the National Association of Women Artists.

Maria Wickwire is a figurative ceramic artist whose work explores thresholds, transformation, and the spaces between seemingly opposing states. Working intuitively with clay rather than from predetermined designs, she creates figures that inhabit the boundaries between human and animal, grounded and airborne, protection and vulnerability, grief and tenderness, and fragmentation and becoming. Her sculptures give form to emotions and experiences that can be deeply felt yet difficult to name, inviting viewers to engage with them on an intimate, emotional level.

Inspired by a childhood memory of a boy playing between bed sheets hung out to dry, disappearing between them, then reappearing, this painting was created in collaboration with a poet. It reflects on the transience of life and the quiet awareness that grows in those in between moments, where presence and absence meet.

Fish school upward toward the unseen sun’s light.
The upper portion of this work is warm and light; the lower, darker and cooler,
suggesting the way sunlight in water diminishes with depth. Narrow strips of warm-colored papers and of silk organza angle down as rays from the top center. Against a background suggesting rock formations, small black and brown forms spiral upward, moving toward the warmth and light above.
