The pure JOY of ‘Ori Tahiti 💛💛💛

10/19/2026

Honoring & celebrating the ancient style of ‘Ori Tahiti, known as the ‘Ori Tahito 🇵🇫

Unlike the modern style we see today that require strict isolation & refined technique, you observe the dancers here with more of a natural, celebratory approach, adopting a wider stance, dancing more on the toes, shoulder movements, & exaggerated, sweeping motions.

Commemorating this period in time allows our tamari’i to connect and see through the eyes of the tūpuna, enabling them to experience & express the pure joy & unadulterated happiness that is Tahiti 💛

Pōpō maita’i to our Hiti tamari’i for competing in our very first tamari’i group competition 👏🏽 Proud is an understatement 🥹
