​ My name is Cassandra Lanay Edler and I am a Multi-Media Artist; which means I like to use everything and anything in my artwork. Everywhere I go, I can see the potential everyday objects have to become a piece of artwork, which has led me to how and why I create Oddity Artwork. I've always had a love for animals and art, plus seeing beauty in environmenta
lism, I have found a beautiful way to put the two together. By finding discarded and unwanted objects that otherwise would go to the landfill, I pick them up and make them into works of art. That's also why you don't see a lot of the same artworks being reproduced by me, I let the object dictate what it wants to become. Also, finding animals as beautiful creatures that we have to learn how to better co-exist with, I believe Oddity Art helps to promote that positive relationship between humans and animals. As humans we die a little every day, and when we choose to change for the better, we become beautiful. I want my artwork to reflect that in my use of upcycling objects and animal bones. Being a Childhood Cancer Survivor, I know how precious life is and the need to embrace the lessons that can be taught by this naturally beautiful world and continue to evolve as does the butterfly.
