Sun of a Beach Studio

Sun of a Beach Studio I love painting landscapes in oil - especially of tropical locations and sea life. Once I took that art class, I fell in love with oil painting.

I started painting about 5 years ago when I attended a Bob Ross class with some co-workers. I doodled every now and again, and could sketch fairly well when I put some effort into it, but I never really did much with it. I took a total of 3 classes and started experimenting with techniques and paintings on my own. I am also enrolled in a comprehensive art program currently and I'm learning many mo

re mediums to express my art, and new techniques for my creations. I am always learning and strive to improve each painting that I create. Tropical landscapes, marine animals and the ocean are my favorite types of painting. I've always been in love with the coast, and I'm able to express my love through my art. I've put some of my better paintings on here with the intent to sell them. I also do commission work and I can let you know the cost once I get your exact specifications. I'll attempt just about any subject besides people. I can sketch people but I've never painted portraits, etc. Perhaps some day I need to try. :) Send me a message if you have any questions about my art or you are interested in commissioning me.

Hello, lovely people!

Whew. It’s been a while since I’ve had time to paint. For those who don’t know, I was offered four publishing contracts for a sci-fi trilogy and a twisted fairytale that I’ve written.

So, I’ve been swamped with those projects. I’m on the last book due, though, so I’m in the homestretch.

Today's fruits of labor. Actually, each one took under an hour.

The first one is an acrylic titled "Three Palms". It's inspired by the view from our room when we were in Hawaii.

The second picture is a small acrylic, titled "Meet Me at the Lighthouse". I bought new neon paints today and wanted to test them out. It's a scene similar to something I've painted before in oil. I love lighthouses and water.
