I’m teaching a kids summer workshop June 25th from 9-10am . Your child will learn all about drawing faces with expression. They’ll add whimsy and humor to their faces as they use a watercolor technique that blows the paint across the page to create silly hair. Warning: laughter and giggles may follow. I had a last minute idea for Mother’s Day and was able to knock it out today. I added some of my string flowers to hymnal pages to create these five cuties. Each one is different so they could be hung individually or as a grouping. I’ll have them available THIS Saturday and Sunday .

Had an amazing week away with my hubby at the ocean and came back inspired by the waves. If you’ve been around here for long you know I love playing with texture. I thought I’d create a few paintings trying to capture the movement and texture of the ocean. It’s always difficult for me not to obsess over being tight and detailed in my art. This technique forces me to be loose and free. I love the outcome and hope to bring more in this style with me to May 9,10th.

Still stringing after all these years. While I don’t do quite as much as I used to, I still try and knock out a few string art pieces for every year. I’ll have a handful of framed string art pieces May 9-10th at the Rodeo Grounds in Old Town Clovis. Mark your calendar, it’s coming quick!

Playing around with watercolor on canvas. It sits on the surface more which creates more blooms. It’s definitely a looser style the my usual paintings but I actually love it! The single color palette has also been fun. Playing with shadows through layering creates such beautiful contrast. What do you guys think?
