These delightful people took home one of the few remaining original prints I have left of this print, Horse and Whale. When I created it I was full of idealism. I guess I still am. The horse, representing land animals, including humans, stares at the whale, which represents the mysteries of nature, and all of the many things that humans do not understand or appreciate about nature, the earth and its creations.
Or, you can just see it as an illustration of some kind. as in William Steig's children's book Amos and Boris, with slightly different characters. Both the horse and the whale are iconic symbolic creatures, appealing to children and adults alike.

Here are a couple of photos of one of Martin Anderson's neon (now LED strips) at the Visual Arts Center in Newport! The Year of the Fire Horse exhibit is on the third floor, and this horse--one of his smaller steeds-- is at the front door to welcome you in.
Marty's neon horse installations were a local sensation in the 1990's into the 2000's.

Excellent reception at the Visual Arts Center in Newport last night. The Fire Horse show will be up through October. And Martin Anderson's neon horse will remain in the lobby for the duration.
The women who purchased my print Running through Fire insisted that I pose in front of it. My lack of vanity allows me to post the photo.

This is one of the ceramic pieces that I will be showing.
Well, Facebook tells me that I need to add an AI label to this photo for some obscure reason. I tried to appease them, but the photo will still not show up. I hope they figure this out soon.

I hope to see you at the Nestucca Valley Artisan's art fair this weekend. I'll have a booth there with my work, including this new painting that I started years ago and just finished. It's a bit more dramatic than my usual images.

I started this linoleum-cut years ago and decided to try to finish it. A month later, I've declared it complete.
