It is with immense sadness the Lee family is sharing news that Bobby Lee passed away in his home the morning of March 7, 2023.

We ask for your time and patience to allow us to be in our grief; to share time with friends and family; and to celebrate the goodness he brought to our lives.

UPDATE: Seems to be fixed now. 10:12 AM PDT

This morning the DNS is broken for steelguitarforum.com. Some people will not be able to connect, and emails generated by the forum are starting to be rejected as "invalid domain" by corporate mail servers. Register.com is aware of the issue - I get the impression that this is affecting many of their domains, and they're frantically trying to fix it.

We have a new member search page on The Steel Guitar Forum website. Members can now find other members easily by name or location. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/members.php. Also, the Settings page (formerly called Profile) has been redesigned.

I've been reworking The Steel Guitar Forum's store at SteelGuitarShopper.com to make it easier to order single strings and build your own set. To that end, today I made a page for the GHS Super Steel™ Stainless Wound Singles. Here it is:

I hope this makes the store easier to navigate. People seemed to be having trouble finding what they needed, and it wasn't clear which were Nitro-packs and which weren't. I recently received a shipment of Nitro-packs to complete the product line. The older GHS "paper envelope" strings have been discontinued.

bb.steelguitarforum.com has been moved to DigitalOcean for speed and a more modern operating system.

The Pedal Steel Pages web site (b0b.com) has been moved to a new server on the DigitalOcean platform. My Bohlen-Pierce site (bp.b0b.com) was also moved. The new server uses Nginx instead of Apache webserver software, and has a solid state disk (SSD) instead of a traditional hard disk. I'm pleased with the snappy performance. The plan is to move The Steel Guitar Forum to DigitalOcean as well (on another dedicated server) after I gain more confidence in the migration procedures. [ 26 more words ]
