Our next teacher is Miss Sydney!

1. What does your dance background consist of? (where did you grow up dancing, companies you may have been part of, etc.)
I grew up dancing here at Shooting Stars Dance and loved it so much I came back as a teacher! After high school I went to The College of Saint Scholastica (I got my bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a minor is Special Education) and danced on their dance team. We performed at football games and other school events as well as competing at UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida.

2. What do you like to do in your free time?
I LOVE reading, I have read 41 books so far this year. If I’m not reading or doing puzzles, I’m probably running (I ran the Garry Bujorkland Half Marathon for the second time this year and have a 10 mile race coming up in September. This will be my fourth time doing the 10 miler), going for walks, spending time with friends and family, or sending time at the lake! At the lake I LOVE going wake surfing and water skiing. I can even do a 360 while surfing!

3. What’s your favorite food?
My favorite food is pulled pork sandwiches and fruit!

4. What’s your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is Arnold Palmer or water because I love all of my water bottles 🫣🤪

5. What’s your favorite place you’ve ever been?
My favorite place I’ve ever been is either Scottsdale, Arizona, Moorhead, Minnesota, or Fort Myers, Florida.

6. A word of advice for our dancers
My advice to our dancers is to enjoy every moment. Enjoy dancing with your friends and enjoy competing and performing. Your time on stage goes quickly, never take a moment for granted. Embrace the ups and downs, as well as all the lessons you learn along the way. Never lose sight of the love and joy you have while dancing!
