🐾 Toto will faithfully accompany Dorothy on her adventures from Kansas to Munchkinland to the Emerald City and back home again.

For the past few weeks, WRHS families have been busy building set pieces, creating props, and putting together costumes! It’s all hands on deck as moms, dads, and students work together to make it all happen in this all-volunteer production. Showtime is coming up April 21-24!

We love offering to our children the opportunity to participate in musical theater! The benefits are many:
✅ Brain power! Kids are required to read and memorize lengthy portions of script and dialogue
✅ Strong communication skills! Speaking, listening, nonverbal cues.
✅ Creative expression! Kids learn how to use voice, movements, facial expressions to tell a story.
✅ Self confidence! Presenting oneself onstage paves the way for future public speaking and social encounters.
✅ Physical activity and coordination! Those choreography moves challenge the brain-body connection and provide great exercise.
✅ Musical learning and awareness!
✅ Social skills! A chance to work cooperatively as a team toward a common goal and form lasting friendships.
✅ Technical skills in dramatic arts! Kids learn stage presence, costuming, make up, set building, scene changing, lighting, microphones and other skills specific to theater.
✅ It’s just plain fun!

WRHS students are working hard to bring a quality live performance to our community! Since November, kids have been meeting for rehearsals as well as putting in many hours at home memorizing and practicing lines, listening to and learning musical scores, and getting choreography moves just right.
