Hunterdon Art Museum A beacon of culture and creativity since 1953, the Hunterdon Art Museum educates, challenges, and inspires community through the arts.

The Hunterdon Art Museum presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art, craft and design in a 19th century stone mill listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Founded in 1952, the Museum showcases works by internationally recognized and emerging contemporary artists. It also offers a dynamic schedule of art classes and workshops for children and adults, and a popular summer camp program.

Mill to Mill Textile Fellowship - Now on Thursdays too!

Bring a project, pull up a chair, and create in community.

The Mill to Mill Textile Fellowship is a welcoming community of makers who gather each week to work alongside one another, share skills, learn, and enjoy the rich traditions and contemporary expressions of textile work.

Bring whatever you are working on—knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, embroidery, hand sewing, lacemaking, rug hooking, or another textile craft. Or come without a project and explore something new using tools and materials we have available.

All experience levels are welcome. You don’t need to be an expert—or even know where to begin. Fellowship is about learning from one another, sharing what we know, trying new things, and spending time with others who enjoy working with their hands.

WHEN WE MEET

Thursdays | 6–8 PM
Fridays | 1–3 PM

Come to either gathering—or both—as your schedule allows.

WHERE WE MEET

The Fellowship moves seasonally between our two museums:

September–November — Hunterdon Art Museum
December–February — Red Mill Museum Village
March–May — Hunterdon Art Museum
June–August — Red Mill Museum Village

There is no museum admission charge to participate in Textile Fellowship. If you become a regular part of the community, we encourage you to consider membership in at least one of our museums to help support the spaces, resources, and programming that make Fellowship possible.

Just bring your project—or your curiosity—and join us.

The Mill to Mill Textile Fellowship is co-sponsored by the Hunterdon Art Museum m and Red Mill Museum Village as part of Mill to Mill, an ongoing partnership connecting traditional and contemporary craft and the communities of both museums.

FREE HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS ON THE HUNTERDON ART MUSEUM TERRACE!

🧶 Mill to Mill Create in Community begins Saturday, October 3 from 1–3 PM with two opportunities to gather, experiment, and make together.

Abstract Knitting & Free-Form Crochet with Emily Ernst
Learn basic crochet and knitting techniques, then go with the flow! Experiment with color, texture, and form while discovering the forgiving nature of yarn and intuitive making.

Mindful Beading: Jewelry Making for All Ages with Kilolo Kumanyika
Learn the basics of beaded jewelry making, including knotting, adding closures, and creating finished pieces. Make bracelets, necklaces, earrings, or other accessories.

✨ FREE • 1–3 PM • Hands-on • All ages welcome

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Exhibition Opening Reception! Our galleries were filled with vibrant energy, brilliant art, and wonderful conversation.

A heartfelt thank you to our curators and juror—Joanne Mattera , Ray-Anthony Eddie , and Bryant Small —for bringing these powerful stories to life. To our incredible featured artists and the dozens of HAM member artists whose work now graces our walls: thank you for sharing your vision with our community.
