Behind every great production is an incredible creative team! Meet the talented people bringing Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! to life for Southwest Playhouse!

🎬 MARJORIE ANDERSON — DIRECTOR
A familiar creative force in Western Oklahoma theatre, Marjorie has directed Bright Star, Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Drowsy Chaperone at Southwest Playhouse, as well as Chicago for Red Carpet Community Theatre. She brings her passion for storytelling, character, and community to Oklahoma! beneath the open sky.

🎶 LORI PARK — MUSIC DIRECTOR
With 41 years of choral music education and decades of musical theatre experience, Lori has a special connection to Oklahoma!—having played Laurey in the show in 1985. This is her second production with Southwest Playhouse and fifth collaboration with Marjorie Anderson.

🎭 REECE MCABEE — ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Primarily an actor, Reece brings a performance-centered approach to directing with a focus on character, storytelling, and movement. His previous directing work includes 4,000 Miles, Oh, To Be Pure Again, and Council at the Treeline.

💃 GINA JONES — CHOREOGRAPHER
Gina is thrilled to make her choreography debut with Oklahoma! She was recently seen as Ms. Scarlett in SWPH’s Clue and has also appeared in Red Carpet Community Theatre productions. Offstage, she teaches yoga and enjoys life with her family!

🎬 LUPITA MORA — STAGE MANAGER (NOT PICTURED)
Lupita is a SWOSU Theatre graduate with experience both onstage and behind the scenes. Since joining SWPH as Stage Manager for The Play That Goes Wrong, she has worked as an Assistant Director, designer, lighting technician, and Stage Manager. She’s excited to bring her love of live theatre to the Amphitheatre!

Together, this talented team is bringing one of America’s most beloved musicals to life under the Oklahoma sky! 🌾✨

The countdown is officially on! In just 23 days, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! comes to life under the stars at the historic McLain Rogers Park Amphitheater in Clinton! 🤠🌾

And at the heart of it all? A cowboy, a farm girl, and the woman who knows them both better than they know themselves. ❤️

Curly. Laurey. Aunt Eller.

Curly may be head over heels for Laurey, but Laurey isn’t exactly making it easy for him! And standing in the middle of their story is Aunt Eller—the strong, spirited matriarch who has plenty to say about love, life, and the people she calls family.

As Curly and Laurey navigate love, stubbornness, and everything in between, Aunt Eller keeps a watchful eye on it all. Because sometimes the people who know you best can see exactly where your heart is headed—even when you can’t. ❤️

The ladies of Chinquapin are getting ready to take the SWPH stage, and Director, Aleta Bowman is looking for the women who will bring these unforgettable characters to life in Steel Magnolias!

A wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic, but lovable.

ABOUT THE SHOW

All the ladies who are “anybody” in Chinquapin, Louisiana gather at Truvy’s beauty salon. Between shampoos, hair appointments and plenty of wisecracking advice, these women share their lives, their joys, their struggles and their secrets.

What begins as a hilarious Southern comedy takes a heartbreaking turn when Shelby risks her life through a dangerous pregnancy. As the women confront the harshness of mortality, they discover strength, friendship and love in the wake of tragedy.

These women are witty, intelligent and, above all, real characters. They are not meant to be portrayed as cartoons or caricatures.

🌦️ WEATHER POLICY
If a performance is canceled due to inclement weather, tickets may be exchanged for another Oklahoma! performance, subject to availability.

🪑 SEATING
Blankets and stadium seats are welcome throughout the amphitheater. Single-person lawn chairs are permitted in the back two-thirds of the venue.

🚫 NOT PERMITTED
Outside food and beverages (except bottled water), alcohol, coolers, weapons, pets (service animals are welcome), smoking/vaping, and umbrellas during performances.

There are some relationships that become the heart of a story—and in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA!, the bond between Aunt Eller and Laurey is one of them.

🌻 AUNT ELLER, played by Julie Williams, is the strong, warm-hearted matriarch of the community. Wise, independent, and never afraid to speak her mind, Aunt Eller is the steady presence who keeps everyone—and sometimes everything—together.

🌾 LAUREY, played by Angela Nichols, is a spirited young woman trying to find her place, follow her heart, and make sense of the complicated feelings surrounding love, independence and the future. Her relationship with Aunt Eller brings a beautiful depth to both characters.

🏞️ McLain Rogers Park was developed during the New Deal era, with construction assistance from federal relief programs including the WPA and CWA. The park was named for Clinton mayor McLain Rogers and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
🛣️ The park is part of Clinton’s rich Route 66 heritage. Clinton remains an important stop along the historic Mother Road and is home to the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum.
