🎭🍑 A Perfect First Theatre Experience! 🍑🎭

Looking for a fun family outing this summer? Don’t miss SWPH’s Summer Children’s Program production of James and the Giant Peach JR.!

This junior production is specially designed with young audiences in mind. With a running time of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and NO intermission, it’s the perfect introduction to live theatre for first-time theatergoers and younger children. The show is packed with colorful characters, exciting adventures, catchy songs, and plenty of laughs from beginning to end!

📅 Performance Dates:
July 10-12 & July 17-19

⏰ Show Times:
• Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 PM
• Sundays at 2:00 PM

🚪 Doors open one hour before each performance, so come early and enjoy some of our special James and the Giant Peach-themed concessions before the show begins!

The first week of Camp Peach is officially complete, and our 41 talented young performers have been hard at work bringing James and the Giant Peach JR. to life! From learning music and choreography to creating unforgettable characters, the excitement and energy have been incredible.

If last summer taught us anything, it’s that you don’t want to wait! All six performances sold out last year, and we fully expect tickets for James and the Giant Peach JR. to sell out FAST again.

Under the direction of Miranda McLean and Melissa McSpaden, this talented cast is creating a show full of adventure, laughter, heart, and fun that audiences of all ages will enjoy.

🍑 One of the best things about this production? It’s a Junior production, meaning there is no intermission and the show runs approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. That makes it the perfect introduction to live theatre for young children and first-time theatre-goers while still being entertaining for the entire family!

Southwest Playhouse is proud to partner with the City of Clinton and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce to bring Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! to the historic McLain Rogers Amphitheater as part of Clinton’s Route 66 Centennial Celebration!

As America’s Mother Road celebrates its 100th anniversary, there is no better musical to honor the spirit, history, and heart of Oklahoma than this beloved Broadway classic performed under the stars. This special outdoor production promises to be one of the signature events of the Centennial celebration and a community experience that audiences will remember for years to come.

• October 2-4, 2026

🌦️ Oklahoma! is an outdoor production. Performances may be delayed or canceled due to weather. If a performance is canceled, tickets may be exchanged for another performance (subject to availability). Any updates will be announced onsite and posted on Southwest Playhouse social media channels.

🪑 Blankets and stadium seats are welcome throughout the amphitheater. Single-person lawn chairs are permitted in the back two-thirds of the venue.

🚫 Please note: Outside food and beverages (except water bottles), alcohol, coolers, weapons, pets (service animals permitted), smoking/vaping, and umbrellas during performances are not permitted.

The excitement is building at Southwest Playhouse as our Summer Children’s Program, James and the Giant Peach JR., has officially begun! We are thrilled to welcome 41 talented participants this summer as they embark on an unforgettable theatrical adventure filled with creativity, friendship, music, and fun.

Under the direction of Miranda McLean and Melissa McSpadden, these young performers are already hard at work bringing this beloved story to life. We can’t wait for our audiences to see all the talent, energy, and excitement that Camp Peach has in store this summer!

Southwest Playhouse is proud to announce our 2026 Scholarship Awards, presented to FOUR outstanding graduates from Clinton and Weatherford! 🎓🌟

These scholarships are awarded by SWPH to help support these students as they continue their education at the colleges and universities they will be attending this fall. We are honored to invest in the futures of young people who have shown dedication, passion, leadership, and a love for the arts and their communities. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day from Southwest Playhouse! 💐🎭

Over the last few seasons, our stage has been filled with some truly unforgettable moms — the lovable ones, the dramatic ones, the outrageous ones, and the hilariously over-the-top ones! From comical chaos to heartfelt moments, these “moms” have helped create some of the most memorable characters to ever take the SWPH stage. ❤️✨

The moms featured in these photos represent some of our favorite motherly characters from the past few years — each one bringing laughter, love, sass, wisdom, and plenty of unforgettable moments to our productions. These performances reminded us just how iconic theater moms can be. 🌟

On this Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible moms who have graced our stage, worked tirelessly backstage, volunteered countless hours, cheered from the audience, chauffeured to rehearsals, fixed costumes, calmed nerves, memorized schedules, and supported the arts with their whole hearts.

SWPH Live is heading to the beautiful McLain Rogers Amphitheater in Clinton, Oklahoma for an exciting production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! 🤠✨

We’re looking for singers, dancers, actors, and performers of all experience levels to join us for this classic musical adventure filled with romance, rivalry, laughter, and unforgettable music!

🎭 AUDITION INFORMATION:
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! Please read the information below before signing up.

Casting Note
Please also note that no one under the age of 15 will be cast in a principal role. However, if your child is under 15 and interested in joining the Ensemble, please contact us at [email protected] and DO NOT sign for a slot. They are for over 15 only.

In-Person Auditions
Wednesday, May 20, 2026 — 6:00–9:00 PM
Thursday, May 21, 2026 — 6:00–9:00 PM
Audition location: Clinton Old Middle School 1001 Orient Ave Clinton, OK 73601 United States

Be prepared to be at auditions for at least two hours. Everyone will get a chance to read and sing for their preferred roles. Most people will also be asked to read for other parts, as well. You may be released early.

Callbacks
Monday, May 25, 2026
Callback invitations will be sent over the weekend.

Rehearsals will begin on June 1st
Performances will be September 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th 26th 27th and October 2nd, 3rd and 4th
