Former staff member Gideon Young returns to the Henry Carter Hull Library to share selections from his new book, Teacher, along with works from his previous books, several of which are available in the library’s collection. The program will feature readings of haiku and poetry, live flute music, and an interactive haiku writing workshop led by the author.
Gideon Young is a member of the Carolina African American Writers’ Collective, a Fellow for A+ Schools of North Carolina, and a former Title 1 elementary school teacher. He currently serves as the 2026 North Carolina Poetry Society Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet. Learn more at gideonyoung.com. Registration link below!
