This was the 30 yard dumpster on day 8. OCD? No. I like to think of it as efficient use of space. Final weight when they took it to the landfill was 6 tons.

Attached to one of the many cigarette burns in the floor was the remnants of a Chesterton. Circa 1970s I believe.

Here's how removing the workstations progressed. The vinyl and 1/4" luan came up together, although most of the staples pulled through and were left in the 3/8" plywood. The carpet came up without issue. The 3/8" plywood was a struggle and came up in shreds thanks to all of the staples. I pulled as many staples as I could before removing the 1/4" masonite. Once the masonite was up, I pulled the broken staples using a technique that I will post in video form after I figure out how to edit it.

The entire floor had 1/4" masonite stapled to the original floor. Rubber backed carpet was glued down to the masonite and a second layer of carpet was on top of that. Everywhere there was a work space, the carpet was cut out, 3/8" plywood was stapled to the masonite, 1/4" luan was glued and stapled to the plywood, then vinyl flooring was glued to the luan. Each work area took one day to tear out and another day to remove staples.

Almost two months from the last post, really? Yeah, I know. I should dig a hole to hide my head from the shame. (Dave gets it) Well, this is where I stopped on the library until I figure out what to do with the books. I would tell you that I'll post again soon, but my Tuesday resolution was tell one less lie a day. Except for cheat days of course.
