The 41st Annual Bosque Art Classic online gallery is now viewable!

Visit https://www.bosqueartscenter.org/Gallery.aspx to see the outstanding work selected for this year’s show by respected curator and collector Tim Newton.

Tickets for opening night general admission seats have gone to a wait list—but that doesn’t mean you can’t purchase art that weekend. Contact the BAC at 254-675-3724 to get on the list to purchase remotely Saturday night (after the pre-sales), or make plans to buy in the online sale beginning Monday, September 14, at 10 a.m. CDT.

The exhibition opens to the public on Sunday, September 13, at 11 a.m.

All systems are go for our opening night on September 12. Until then, the Jones Gallery is closed in preparation for our 41st annual Classic!

JONES GALLERY CLOSED UNTIL CLASSIC OPENING

The Roland Jones Memorial Gallery will be closed in preparation for the 41st Annual Bosque Art Classic.

The gallery will open Saturday, September 12, for the gala, which features a reception, sale, dinner, and awards ceremony.

Tickets are $85 and need to be purchased by September 4 by phone or online at www.BosqueArtsCenter.org.

Call the BAC to inquire about becoming an Art Patron, with private receptions with the artists and early purchase privileges on Sept. 12.

This week a very special lady celebrates her birthday: Joyce Jones.

Joyce and her husband, Roland, are co-sponsors of the John Steven Jones Purchase Award, founding members of the organization that is now the Bosque Arts Center, and longtime patrons of the visual and performing arts. As we noted in our catalog when we celebrated the 35th anniversary of the JSJ award and the Jones Gallery, the Bosque Art Classic owes so much of its success to Joyce and Roland, who took the reins of this show in its infancy at the request of founder Joan Spieler. They sponsored the Classic for many years, traveling all over the country with a suitcase full of slides to have the show juried each year by quality judges. Back in Clifton, they scrubbed floors (and toilets), moved panels, hung lights, folded napkins—did anything else required to set the stage for a grand weekend celebrating the arts—and welcomed artists into their home figuratively and literally. So many of us would not be here if not for this dear person and we want to wish her the most wonderful of birthdays!

Congratulations to James Swanson, a juried artist in last year's Bosque Art Classic.

Congratulations to James Swanson OPA for winning the Gold Medal in the Associate & Signature Division at the 35th National Exhibition for his painting Destiny of the Rising Sun. The exhibition is hosted by the Steamboat Art Museum through August 29th!hosted by the Steamboat Art Museum! We also extend our congratulations to all of the award winners.
