Good morning, Burleson! I have openings for massage this Friday (several throughout the day) and on Sunday afternoon—text me at (903) 229-0127 to book!
My areas of specialty are:
Sciatic nerve release—this incorporates deep tissue work on the glutes, piriformis, hamstrings, and muscles of the low back, abdominals, and pelvis. Includes PNF stretching, Myofascial Release, trigger point work. Not always comfortable, but typically very effective at relieving sciatic pain!
Detailed work of the neck/shoulders for pain, stiffness, and dysfunction—includes Myofascial Release, trigger point work, stretching, manual cervical traction, Cranio-Sacral techniques—great for tension, headache, frozen shoulder, nerve impingement, herniated cervical disc, spondylosis, arthritis in the cervical spine—both relaxing and therapeutic.
Lypossage Zones 1-3–this technique is for skin toning, not for relaxation. Lypossage works beautifully on the face and helps to plump skin, free facial adhesion/restrictions, and encourage the production of collagen and elastin. It consists of detailed, superficial work combined with lymphatic drainage to tone and tighten skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite, lines, and wrinkles. It requires a commitment of 2 sessions a week for 6 weeks if you want real results, and is charged by the contact hour. Maintenance sessions are recommended 1 time weekly. A Lypossage facial (Zone 3) consists of manual work to the head, face, neck, décolleté, and shoulders (so this one feels marvelous!) and red light application, and takes about an hour. Lypossage zones 1 and 2 (lower body/upper body) don’t feel as much like a day at the spa, but with commitment will render results. Contact time depends on body size and the client’s specific needs.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage—also superficial, but can be combined with massage in some cases. Consists of opening and clearing lymph nodes and moving lymphatic fluids through the system to encourage draining and reduce swelling.
Both Lypossage and MLD require that the client increases water consumption before and following sessions. Neither Lypossage nor MLD utilizes massage cream, but may utilize small amounts of oil to encourage lymphatic drainage.
My signature massages combine some of the therapeutic modalities listed above (minus MLD and Lypossage,) as well as Thai techniques, Shiatsu, Swedish, and hot stones. Massage can be customized to meet almost any need, but communication is key!
