HEY, FIRST CLASS LOSER, WELCOME BACK TO YOUNGSTOWN!
Trump's rolling into the Covelli Centre this Monday, October 12, for a "midterm rally," with Senator Jon Husted expected to tag along again.
Last time Trump came to Youngstown, in 2017, he told the crowd the jobs were all coming back. "Don't move. Don't sell your house." Less than two years later, GM shut down Lordstown. The Valley remembers.
His approval is underwater by more than 20 points, and Republicans who can read a poll are keeping their distance. Husted keeps showing up anyway. We say bring it on. It only helps build a massive blue wave. 🌊
Doors at 2:30, program at 4:30, and Trump speaks at 6. Protesters should start gathering around 2:00 PM.
It's Indigenous Peoples' Day (Columbus Day), so a lot of folks have the day off. If that's you, bring a sign and bring a friend. Bring water, stay on the sidewalk, and expect the Secret Service to keep you at a distance. So far, nobody's been pushed far back. Downtown parking will be tight, so get there early, don't block anyone's driveway, and keep an eye on the City of Youngstown's website for parking advisories. First time protesting? ACLU of Ohio has a know-your-rights guide worth reading before you go.
Peaceful protesters only. If you're coming to start trouble, stay home.
Fun fact: a "free" rally ticket comes with a lifetime subscription to fundraising texts from Trump's committee, the RNC, and nearly every state GOP. That's what burner emails and free VoIP numbers are for. 😂
Trump isn't on the ballot in November, but Trumpism sure is. Early voting in Ohio is open now through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend or family member. The sooner the better, because anything can happen: illness, car trouble, a family emergency, or this administration pulling a fast one on DEMOCRACY.
