As the fourth annual Mandel Opera & Humanities Festival comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the remarkable performances, conversations, and community experiences centered around the theme of courage.

As Festival Curator Terence Blanchard shared:
“The 2026 Mandel Opera & Humanities Festival is about courage, the courage to speak your mind, the courage to be able to listen and truly hear, the courage to allow all of us to have a voice and come together as a community should.”

Through music, storytelling, and thoughtful dialogue, this year’s festival brought artists, audiences, and community partners together in inspiring and impactful ways 🤍

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s festival possible! Until next year! 🙌🏼

The Cleveland Orchestra joins the classical music community in mourning the passing of tenor Limmie Pulliam.

An artist with extraordinary vocal power and sincerity, Limmie Pulliam made his Cleveland Orchestra debut in 2022, stepping into the title role in Verdi’s Otello. He deepened his connection with our musicians and audiences through Puccini’s The Girl of the Golden West and, most recently, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde.

Cleveland held a special place in Pulliam’s heart. He considered his performances with The Cleveland Orchestra among the highlights of his career, once remarking that if he could sing an opera in Cleveland every year, he would be “a very happy man.”

We are deeply grateful for the music and memories Limmie shared with us. The Cleveland Orchestra extends its heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, and those who were touched by his remarkable voice.
