🎓 Senior Spotlight: Jonah Paponetti 🎻

Today we celebrate Jonah Paponetti, Principal Viola for Season 31 of the Contemporary Youth Orchestra! Over the past three seasons with CYO (29, 30, and 31), Jonah has brought leadership, musicianship, and dedication to every performance and rehearsal.

This fall, Jonah will attend the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) to study Viola Performance — an exciting next step in his musical journey. We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and can’t wait to see where his talent takes him next.

Congratulations, Jonah, and thank you for making such a lasting impact on the CYO community! ✨

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Maria Zarjetskiy ✨

Today we’re recognizing Maria Zarjetskiy, a valued member of the Contemporary Youth Orchestra’s Class of 2026! Maria’s presence, dedication, and artistry have helped make this season truly special, and we are so grateful to have had her as part of the CYO family.

Maria will be attending the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University for Finance and Information Systems! As she prepares for her next chapter, we celebrate all that she has accomplished both on and off the stage. Congratulations, Maria — we can’t wait to see where your journey leads next! 🌟

For the past five seasons, Alex Jin has been an integral part of the Contemporary Youth Orchestra community, serving as Concertmaster during Season 31 and bringing outstanding musicianship to the violin section.

This fall, Alex will attend The Ohio State University to study Computer Engineering — an exciting next step for a student whose dedication and focus have inspired so many around him.

Today we celebrate Abigail Choi, violinist and Concertmaster for Season 31 of the Contemporary Youth Orchestra! Abigail has been a part of CYO for four incredible seasons (28–31), bringing leadership, artistry, and dedication to every rehearsal and performance.

This fall, Abigail will attend The Ohio State University to study Marketing. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for her!

As we approach the end of our fiscal year, we are asking our community to help close this funding gap with a donation to CYO. We must raise $20,000 to replace the previous federal funding source. Your support will directly sustain scholarships, student programming, guest artists, and accessible opportunities for young musicians across Northeast Ohio.
