Capitol Theatre Cleveland’s oldest operating cinema, highlighting films since 1921. Every ticket supports our community.
(1746)

We strive to keep indie, classic, and first-run films alive on the West Side, anchoring the Gordon Square Arts District. The Capitol Theatre first opened its doors in 1921 and once thrived as a neighborhood moviehouse. After sitting vacant for over two decades, the Capitol has been reborn as a state-of-the-art all-digital cinema. The Capitol Theatre features exclusive monthly events including midnight screenings as a part of the Late Shift and Happy Hour Classic Film Series. Special Bargains are also offered during the week:

* Bigger Bargain Monday
* Bargain Tuesday $5 Movies For Marquee Rewards Members

“An absurd triumph.”
— The Guardian

Following the finale of his acclaimed HBO series “How To with John Wilson”, NYC documentarian John Wilson looks to the bedrock of his beloved New York City for inspiration and structure. Concrete, the world’s most widely used building material, appears as an ever-present life force, and John sets out to make the definitive documentary on the matter. After attending a workshop on how to write and sell a Hallmark movie, he decides to use the industry-approved Hallmark formula to tell this seemingly drab story and increase his movie’s appeal. But his foundation soon begins to crumble—literally and figuratively—as he struggles to balance artistic freedom with the realities of the modern film industry.

The History of Concrete opens tomorrow! Link in bio for more info + advance tickets.

🎬🇮🇪 ADDITIONAL CLEVELAND SCREENING ADDED DUE TO PHENOMENAL DEMAND! 🎉

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9TH — SOLD OUT!
NEW SCREENING: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10TH AT 11AM!

I can hardly believe I'm writing this!

With Friday night's screening of All Our Yesterdays at the Capitol Theatre completely sold out, we've added a second screening to give everyone another chance to see the film.

And I'll be there in person to introduce the Saturday screening!

What a journey this has been. From a small town in County Mayo to the big screen in Cleveland. To see these stories, memories and connections resonating with so many people across the Atlantic is something very special.

After two sold-out screenings in Pittsburgh, Cleveland has given us another incredible welcome.

A huge thank you to everyone who has bought tickets, shared our posts and helped spread the word. Your support means more than you know. ❤️
