Did you know red-footed tortoises play an important role in keeping tropical forests healthy? As they munch on fruits, they help spread seeds throughout their habitat, giving new plants a chance to grow. In fact, they’re especially important for dispersing seeds from tropical plants like figs and bromeliads. 🌱🍎

🌙 Meet the New Moon Jellies!

We welcomed around 100 moon jellies to Greater Cleveland Aquarium from our friends at the South Carolina Aquarium!

Before their arrival, our team carefully prepared the habitat and matched water parameters to help make their transition as smooth as possible. Moon jellies are delicate animals, so every detail matters.

You can now find these mesmerizing creatures drifting in the Coastal Boardwalk gallery. Stop by and see them for yourself! ✨🪼

Did you know archerfish are basically nature’s sharpshooters? 🎯🐟

Found in our Asia & Indonesia Gallery, these fascinating fish hunt by shooting jets of water from their mouths to knock insects off branches above the water. Some can hit targets from several feet away with impressive accuracy!
