Akron, OH – The silver screen comes roaring to life as the Cinematic Symphony Orchestra makes its highly anticipated debut at the Akron Civic Theatre with HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTERS, an electrifying evening of iconic film scores featuring internationally acclaimed guitarist and Akron native Neil Zaza.

The dynamic program features music from Top Gun, Back to the Future, Avengers: Endgame, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, How to Train Your Dragon, Inception, Casino Royale, and more, transporting audiences straight into the heart of Hollywood’s greatest cinematic moments. Fusing the power of a full symphony orchestra and choir with the the edge of electric guitar, HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTERS promises to be a high-octane musical experience.

For Zaza, the performance marks a homecoming to the city where his musical journey began. Attention STRINGS, TRUMPETS, VOICES, & POTENTIAL VOLUNTEERS--the Cinematic Symphony Orchestra is recruiting violin, viola, cello, double bass, trumpet, and all SATB choir singers for our incredible upcoming 2026-27 Season, which includes concerts at the Maltz Performing Arts Center, Akron Civic Theatre, and Severance Hall! We are also looking for wind and percussion subs at all positions! And we have a HUGE need for volunteers (stage manager, equipment manager, personnel manager, graphic designer, photographer/videographer, marketing officer, grant writer, merchandise coordinator, etc.).
