On April 18, the Bronx felt the energy. The Hip Hop Museum team took over The Culture Lab for our latest showcase: Show Us Whatcha Got. Since it’s Poetry Month, we focused on the lyrical roots that built this culture. Our goal? To create a space where artists could sharpen their blades, take risks, and connect with an authentic audience. From our visitors’ perspective, we gathered that the positive atmosphere and the community are what separate us from other showcases.
Intentional community isn’t theoretical—it shows up in how people move, connect, and push each other forward in the moment. Spaces like this aren’t just about putting talent on display; they’re about creating real pressure for growth, where relationships carry weight and accountability isn’t optional. When the foundation is built on access, transparency, and opportunity, it stops being just an event—it becomes a catalyst for what’s next.
Salute to every artist who stepped in and took that risk. The discipline, hunger, and respect for the craft were evident, and the impact stretched well beyond that space. Special thanks to Kylerr of The Hip Hop Museum for hosting the event; Cutman LG (a founding member of the Museum); and Freedom/Short Circuit (formerly signed to No Limit Records) for offering each artist thoughtful insight and meaningful guidance on their performances.
Artists: Sci-Fi The Mastermind (.fi.tm), Lyricc (), Symbolik Knight (), Asha Jené (), Jaquair (), and Betty Ding ()
Stay tuned on our socials for the next opportunity to Show Us Whatcha Got!
