It's Opera-Tune Moments time again! Join COT in our monthly "opera club" this Thursday evening (Dec. 1 at 5:30 pm) for an informal gathering to celebrate Verdi's La Traviata. We'll gather at the Green Goat Cafe Bar in downtown Cleveland for an informal get-together of like-minded listeners. No need to study, no need to register, no need to pay! COT's musicologist-in-residence, Stephanie Ruozzo, will be there to share some fun information, and soprano Claire Connelly will cap the evening with a live virtuoso performance!

Do you love opera so much that you can't stop talking about it? Do you catch yourself wondering, "What's so great about opera, anyway?!" If you answered yes to either question, COT's Opera-Tune Moments (formerly Opera Club) is for you! We meet once a month to hang out and chat about one of our favorite operas. No registration, free of charge, and all levels of interest and experience are invited! Meetings take place at The Green Goat Cafe and Bar in downtown Cleveland and conclude with a live performance. Our next meeting is Thursday Dec. 1 from 5:30pm-6:30pm at The Green Goat, and we're celebrating Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata. We are devastated and deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Megan Thompson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Cleveland Opera Theater. Megan was killed in a tragic kayaking accident in NC Thursday, Feb, 24. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/state/north-carolina/article258768253.html
Megan was a warm and generous collaborator whose passion for the arts, arts education, and community engagement enriched the lives of thousands throughout Northeast Ohio. Megan was a key member of our team who led the development of Opera Explorers and other Education and Engagement programs, Marketing, and Public Relations.
Megan's work was integral in steering our organization through the unprecedented impact of the global pandemic with creativity, imagination, and determined vision. Megan's standout work was recognized by the Hart Institute - she was one of four arts administrators selected for participation in 2020 cycle of this prestigious institute for Women Opera Administrators at The Dallas Opera.
We mourn the loss of our incredibly talented collaborator and friend. Megan will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be offered this week for family in NC. Details about a service in Cleveland will be shared as they are available.
