West Clinton Historic Haunts The 1920s notably brought Cleveland some of its most beloved landmarks in Tower Terminal, The Gordon Square Arcade and the theatres of Playhouse Square.

Presented by the West Clinton Block Club in cooperation with Near West Theatre and the Northwest Neighborhoods CDC visitors will experience a lantern-lit, guided walking tour and artistic storytelling navigated thru the nearby charming residential area. ed to both fright and delight audiences with a selection of vivacious, nefarious, and hilarious Cleveland histories. Presented by the West Clinton Block Club in cooperation with Near West Theatre and the Northwest Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation, visitors will experience a lantern-lit, guided walking tour filled with artistic storytelling as they navigate the charming residential areas surrounding Gordon Square Arts District. In the tour, flash back to one hundred years ago by stepping into a world of Cleveland’s most famous and infamous characters of a bygone, post-influenza-pandemic, era. It marked an end to the long-fought women’s suffrage movement, the beginning of a highly-contested prohibition, and the Jazz Age. The Cleveland baseball team even won a World Series! No matter 1921 or 2021, Historic Haunts promises a fun and unique fall experience for audiences of all ages. Tickets go on sale in September.

Audition Registration is now open for Historic Haunts!

Looking for a fun and creative way to get involved this Halloween season? We've got just the thing! Join us for West Clinton Historic Haunts — Cleveland’s family-friendly walking tour filled with local legends, ghostly tales, and spirited performances. This is our 5-year anniversary, so be prepared to revisit some of our favorites and explore some new historical stories.

Audition Dates:
Tuesday, August 12 & Wednesday, August 13
7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Performance Dates: Oct. 2-4, 2025

Ages 12 and up welcome — this is an excellent opportunity for the whole family to participate together!

Whether you're a seasoned performer or brand new to the stage, everyone is encouraged to audition! No experience necessary — bring your energy, imagination, and a willingness to play! The audition will be a group audition featuring theatre games, improvisation, character-building, and movement. No callbacks — casting decisions will be made from the audition sessions.

Join the walking dead on October 3, 4, and 5 for West Clinton Historic Haunts: Detroit Shoreway's family-friendly interactive walking tour, designed to both fright and delight audiences with a selection of vivacious, villainous, and hilarious Cleveland histories.

Tickets: $12 - Ages 10 & up, $5 - Ages 2-9. To purchase, visit nearwesttheatre.org.

Run time approx. 60 minutes. The tour is just under a mile long. Parental guidance is suggested. All ages are welcome. Some subject matter may be most appropriate for ages 10 & up. Tickets: $12 - Ages 10 & up, $5 - Ages 2-9.
