How can I possibly explain what this band means to me?

The Punch Brothers have been the soundtrack to so much of my life — college, first job, first apartment, and so many seasons in between. I’ve seen them more than a dozen times and they remain, without question, my favorite band.

Extraordinary talent. Musical genius. Transcendent.

And last night I got to experience them from an entirely different perspective: behind my camera, photographing their incredible show at Cain Park | Arts & Music Venue.

Getting to photograph my favorite band was surreal. Getting to make photographs of music that has meant so much to me for so many years was an absolute honor. 💜

Branford Marsalis Quartet, and Dianne Reeves dazzled the crowd as they honored John Coltrane on Saturday night. ✨

It was a perfect evening for jazz in the park as Branford delighted us with his saxophone performance and Dianne delivered stunning vocals. The quartet also had their own standout moments in what made for an incredible show. 🎷
