We're introducing Amelia Casiano as part of Spotlight, a concurrent exhibition in our intimate 100-square-foot gallery, highlighting individual artistic practices.

Casiano is a Cleveland-based mixed media artist whose work explores culture, community, and identity through vibrant color, layered textures, and expressive forms. Drawing from her Puerto Rican heritage and her experiences growing up on Cleveland's West Side, she creates work that reflects both personal history and shared human experiences.

Her paintings bring together paint, texture, and mixed media to create visual dialogues around topics including womanhood, climate change, social issues, and cultural connection. Through bold palettes and dynamic compositions, Casiano explores the relationships between movement and stillness, individuality and community, and the many ways cultures intersect and influence one another.

"The use of forms and colors create a dialogue within my work through landscapes, community, and portraits, demonstrating the connectedness between different cultures."

We're introducing Andrew Reach, one of the artists featured in Beyond Perception, an exhibition exploring how disability shapes artistic practice, process, and perspective.

Reach is a Cleveland-based multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges digital media, sculpture, and architecture. After a progressive spine disease ended his 21-year career as an architect, he turned to digital art as both a creative outlet and a way to navigate chronic pain. More recently, a commission for an accessible exhibition reintroduced him to three-dimensional work, reconnecting him with his architectural roots.

Using digital modeling, video, original music, and 3D printing, Reach creates hybrid forms he calls "art-itectures"—part sculpture, part architecture. His work explores the intersection of technology, memory, design, and adaptation, transforming personal challenges into opportunities for innovation and discovery.

"I thought I left architecture behind 21 years ago when I stopped practicing. I stopped, not because I wanted to, but because my spine had other plans for me."

✨🎨Say hello to our July 2026 Visual Artist of the Month: Dejiah Archie-Davis 🎨✨
Dejiah Archie-Davis (b. 1997, Cleveland, Ohio) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, history, memory, and Black futurism through mixed media, photography, video, and collage. By layering color, pattern, texture, and repetition, she transforms familiar images into new visual narratives that examine spiritual connections, environmental change, and Black social experiences. Archie-Davis earned a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design and has worked professionally as an artist since 2013. In addition to her practice as an artist, photographer, filmmaker, and curator, she has taught arts education for over five years. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, The Carnegie, and Beeler Gallery, and she recently served as a juror for the Ohio Shorts Film Festival at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
