Why do I create art the way I do…
It’s because color became my language when life felt too heavy to speak.

My son Jason is my why.
His story is woven into every piece I make — a reminder that mental health matters, that darkness doesn’t last forever, and that reaching out can save a life.

Fluid art became a place to breathe again…
and now I hope it becomes that for someone else, too.

A month that can feel beautiful and heavy all at the same time.

If this season feels bright for you, I’m truly happy for you.
And if it feels tender, overwhelming, or a little lonely… please know you’re not walking it alone.

Winter is complicated.
Grief gets louder.
Memories get sharper.
And sometimes the world feels like it’s moving faster than our hearts can keep up.

I’ve learned that healing doesn’t follow the calendar.
It doesn’t skip December.
It doesn’t pause for the holidays.

3G Girl Studios was born out of a place where color helped me breathe again — especially after losing my sweet Jason. Creating has been one of the ways I keep him close… one of the ways I turn a little bit of darkness into something gentle and bright.

So if your heart feels heavy this month, this is your reminder to take things slowly… to rest when you need to… to find tiny moments of calm and comfort.

A cup of something warm.
A soft light in the corner.
A quiet moment just for you.
It all counts.

💜 This picture is from the summer of 2020 — the last summer we had with Jason.

We had just gotten a pool, and he and I spent countless hours together in it — laughing, talking, and making memories I’ll hold onto forever.

We didn’t know it would be our last summer with him. But these moments remind me of the beauty and importance of connection.

🦋 That’s why I started 3G Girl Studios: to create art that carries memory, hope, and healing forward. Because when words fail, color speaks.

Teen years are such a whirlwind of change—hormones, identity, friendships, pressure. But this is also the time when most mental health struggles begin to show up. What looks like “just being a teenager” can sometimes actually be signs of a deeper struggle.

I’ll be honest—there are things I dismissed as “normal teenage behavior” with Jason that I now know were early signs of mental illness. The truth is, the line between typical teen changes and warning signs can be blurry. That’s why it’s so important we don’t dismiss what we see, even if we’re unsure.

👉 If your teen seems different, withdrawn, overwhelmed, or not themselves—lean in. Ask. Listen. Don’t be afraid to say the word “suicide.” Starting the conversation might feel uncomfortable, but silence is far more dangerous.

Youth deserve every chance to grow into adulthood. We can’t prevent every loss, but together, we can create a world where fewer families have to know this grief.

You are not alone. Your teen is not alone. And there is help.
