The lone bannered route for U.S. 19 in Florida travels 37.20 miles north through Pinellas County to southwest Pasco County. Representing the historic alignment of U.S. 19, U.S. 19 Alternate loops west from St. Petersburg to Seminole, Largo and the county seat of Clearwater. The route varies from a commercial arterial in the Tyrone Square Mall area to a two-lane residential through road in Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs. One-way couplets lead U.S. 19 Alternate through both Downtown Clearwater and west of Downtown St. Petersburg.
