Quaker Steak and L**e announced today that after 23 years they will be closing their doors for good on July 5th 2026
Statement from their page.
"After almost 23 years of service, Quaker Steak and L**e is closing its doors after business closes on July 5th. Bill and Laura Church hired me in August 2009 as their General Manager. They both gave me a chance to be a part of something bigger than anything I have ever known. They started this endeavor not knowing much about the hospitality business! It exploded into something so magical that people just kept coming! The heart of giving was what made it so incredibly special. It made people want to be a part of making a positive impact for the community. The fact that it was fun all the time made it more inviting.
I have had the honor and privilege to work with some of the best staff members that I have ever encountered in this business through all these years. We have some of the most tenured staff in the company, one of the cleanest stores I have ever had the pleasure to work in, and hands-down the best extended family of patrons I have ever witnessed. I've seen this entire community rally around people time and time again by lifting them up and supporting perfect strangers, family, and friends. We've cried, laughed, and hugged each other all these years. You all have embraced the staff as if they were your own family, which is the most beautiful thing I have ever been a part of in my entire existence.
Now, down to business! We are still open until Sunday, July 5th. Daily and weekly events are still happening. We were given a gift of three weeks of business, which is huge in this industry. Normally, doors would be locked with zero notice. That gives three weeks for my staff to say goodbyes to all of you and make money before they find their new homes. We would love to see as many faces as possible. Share memories and enjoy each other for just a little while longer. It's all about the people and relationships we've made along the way. The fact that The L**e has been our job just makes it better that we got to make money while having so much fun. This place is so unique. The walls will be full for another few weeks, keeping our sad hearts full. Thank you for all the beautiful memories ❤️.
Please keep our staff in your prayers and be kind when you come to visit these last few weeks. Saying goodbye to a place such as ours is one of the harder things we will do in our industry."
