One of the coolest new features in DEX 4.1 is designed to answer a question every DJ faces: What should I play next? 🤔🎶

Meet Next Picks.

DEX 4.1 can now suggest tracks based on what’s playing on the master deck, taking into account things like:

• Key compatibility
• Tempo
• Energy
• Mood
• Similar sound
• Available mix room
• How recently you played the track

You can also choose presets like Mixable, Same Key, Same Tempo, and Fresh, and each recommendation tells you why it was selected.

It’s not choosing the set for you. It’s giving you smarter options, faster, while you stay in control of the mix.

And if you want to dig even deeper, right-click any track and use Find similar tracks.
DEX 4.1 is shaping up to be a big one.

🔥 DEX 4.1 BETA 3 IS HERE! 🎧

This one is going to be especially interesting for DJs who still like to get their hands on the music.

Beta 3 brings a much more authentic vinyl feel, new scratch sound options, physical platter behavior, 33 1/3 and 45 RPM platter settings, plus new brake, coast, backspin, and platter throw behavior.

And there’s another big one:

DVS support is now in DEX 4.1.

Beta 3 supports Serato, rekordbox, MixVibes, and Traktor MK1 control records, along with Serato control CDs. We’ve also added motorized platter support and new scripts for the Numark NS7 series, V7, and Rane Twelve MK1.

There are also fixes for larger TIDAL playlist libraries and smoother, more accurate mouse scratching.

DEX 4.1 Beta 3 adds DVS support, improved vinyl-style scratching, motorized platter support, TIDAL fixes, smoother scratching, and more.

DEX 4.1 replaces the previous beat detector with a new AI engine for beats, tempo and downbeats. It also adds track information to help you plan transitions and choose your next song.

Here’s what’s new:

Beat grids that follow the music
Tempo sections are created only where the tempo actually changes. DEX detects 3/4 or 4/4 time and uses four- or eight-bar phrases to establish bar 1, so the bar count lines up with the music.

Song structure and vocal sections
DEX identifies intros, builds, drops, main sections, breaks and outros, plus verses, choruses and bridges. It uses stems when AI Unmix EQ is enabled and the original mix otherwise. Vocal analysis separates lead vocals from vocal textures and shows those sections on the overview.

Automatic cues and mix points
Tracks without hot cues receive cue points based on song structure. Mix-in cues are placed 16 or 32 bars before the first body section. Existing cues stay as they are. Mix-in and mix-out points are saved per track, and Automix uses the detected mix-out point unless you set your own.

More accurate musical key detection
The new engine reports the key, tuning and detection confidence. Key detection is now always enabled, so there’s no separate setting to switch on.

Energy and mood in your library
Each track gets an energy rating from 1 to 10. DEX reads Mixed In Key or Lexicon energy tags when available, or calculates a rating when they aren’t. Mood analysis adds a mood word and measures musical positivity and intensity. New Energy and Mood columns are available, and both values appear in modern track rows by default.

Energy changes within a track
Each track also gets an energy curve. Skins can show it as a strip on the position slider. That display is off by default.

Updated analysis without losing your edits
Tracks with older analysis data are analyzed again when loaded or in the background. Your cues and manually edited grids are preserved during normal reanalysis. The track menu’s “Re-analyze the whole library” action refreshes BPM, beat grids, meter and key, and asks for confirmation before overwriting edited grids.

Analysis models also load and warm up at startup, so the first track doesn’t have an extra model-loading delay.

DEX 4.1 BETA 2 IS LIVE!

A big thank you to everyone who jumped into Beta 1 and started putting DEX 4.1 through its paces. Your testing and feedback are already helping us tighten things up.

Beta 2 is now available for Windows and Mac, with an important fix for Windows systems using performance GPUs with the new high-quality AIUnmixEQ setting, plus several additional fixes and optimizations.

If you’ve been testing Beta 1, we definitely recommend updating. If you haven’t tried DEX 4.1 yet, now is a great time to jump in.

🎤 Your music library. A whole new karaoke experience.

DEX 4.1 brings AI vocal removal and synced lyrics to your regular music tracks, so you can turn songs you already have into karaoke performances.

Here’s what’s new:

🎶 AI Karaoke mode
Remove the original vocals using AI stems while keeping key lock enabled. Want a little help from the original singer? Choose a guide vocal at -18, -12, or -6 dB—or remove the vocals completely.

📝 More ways to get lyrics
Load synced lyrics from an .lrc file alongside your track or from embedded ID3 lyrics, including SYLT and USLT. Older iTunes-style line breaks are supported too. You can also enable optional online lyrics lookup through LRCLIB.

🤖 AI timing for plain lyrics
When a track loads onto a deck, DEX can align unsynced lyrics to the vocals using the vocal stem. Lyrics that don’t match the recording are rejected and remembered as not found.

📺 Lyrics where you need them
Show lyrics on your TV or video output and along the deck waveform. Fine-tune the timing for each track. In Karaoke mode, the lyrics overlay follows the playing deck—even when “show on video” is turned off.

🛠️ Easy lyrics controls
Right-click a track and choose Lyrics to look up lyrics, align them again, adjust timing, show the lyrics file, remove lyrics, or export an .lrc file alongside the track.

🔎 Find your lyric-ready tracks
A library marker identifies tracks with lyrics, and a search helps you find them quickly.

🎛️ Built for your karaoke workflow
Toggle Karaoke mode from Stems pad 9, the track menu, or a mapped controller. It also switches on automatically when a singer’s regular track loads from the rotation list.
