In a discussion regarding tattoo televisions shows this quote from Deb Yarian came up. It's exactly how I feel, expressed better than I can, from a woman with 30+ years in the business.

"The state of tattooing today, the lack of knowlege of it's history and the blase attitude and inflated egos among those practicing it- are reason enough to leave anyone with a true love for tattooing discouraged.
I continue to do what I've always done- I tattoo the soldiers, the housewives, the fisherman, the oil field workers- people who love getting tattoos. These people and their tattoos are what tattooing has always been about for me."
