Author and creator Laura Westley joined the audience after the performance for a lively conversation about her memoir, how it first became a one-woman show, and its journey to becoming a fully staged production.
Now, ten years later, War Virgin is back onstage in a bold new revival—and we were thrilled to celebrate its return with Laura, our cast, and such an enthusiastic opening-night audience.

SPECIAL TALKBACK THIS FRIDAY!

Join us after the Friday, June 19th performance of War Virgin at TheatreFor for a special audience talkback with playwright and author Laura Westley!

Laura is a West Point graduate, former U.S. Army Captain, and Iraq War veteran. In addition to creating the musical comedy War Virgin, she authored the memoir of the same name. In 2016, Laura took the show and book on an East Coast tour, including a performance at West Point during her 15-year reunion. The tour attracted attention from The Tampa Bay Times, The Boston Globe, and NPR—National Public Radio, not New Port Richey, where Laura was born!

As a liberated veteran, Laura values exercising her freedom of speech and has used her public platform to advocate for equality and improved veterans’ healthcare through radio, television, speeches, and essays. She has also spent the past 20 years working in healthcare technology—and believes Corporate America may provide the perfect setting for her next book and play!

Laura extends her heartfelt thanks to the entire cast for dedicating their talents to this revival of War Virgin, with special appreciation for director Michael Cote.

Don’t miss the performance—and stay afterward for the opportunity to hear directly from the woman whose extraordinary life inspired the story.
