The very first Sumi-e painting I ever painted. There was a Japanese artist at the Twenty-Nine Palms Art Center who taught an intro class. Twenty-Nine Palms is a rather God-forsaken place in the Mojave Desert, and the chances of finding a Sumi-e artist were less than zero!! So I was thrilled to discover the class!! I've been hooked ever since on East Asian Brush Painting, both Chinese Brush Painting and Japanese Sumi-e....🥰
