Today marks the first day of camp at Ravenwood Foundation, and my heart is full.

Watching our campers arrive, eager to learn, explore, make friends, and create memories reminds me exactly why we do what we do. Every activity, every lesson, every laugh, and every opportunity we provide is made possible through the incredible support of our community.

Many people may not realize that the Ravenwood Faire is our largest fundraiser of the year. The Faire is far more than a weekend of entertainment and adventure, it is what helps make programs like our youth camp possible. The funds raised through the Faire directly support the experiences, educational opportunities, and scholarships that allow us to serve young people throughout the year.

As we begin this week of camp, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, vendor, performer, sponsor, attendee, donor, and supporter who has been part of Ravenwood Faire. Your support doesn’t end when the Faire gates close. It continues here, in the smiles of our campers and in the opportunities we are able to provide them.

Thank you for believing in our mission and investing in the next generation. We couldn’t do this without you.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of one of our own, Mike “Tancred” Von Zorn.

For many years, Mike was more than a participant in Ravenwood, he was part of its heart and soul. He dedicated countless hours, days, weekends, and years of his life helping build not only the Faire, but also the community and Foundation that so many of us call home. His contributions cannot be measured simply by the time he gave, but by the friendships he forged, the lives he touched, and the lasting impact he left behind.

Mike was the kind of person who showed up when help was needed, shared his knowledge freely, and helped create the welcoming spirit that defines Ravenwood. Through his dedication, hard work, and passion, he helped shape this organization into what it is today.

Behind every volunteer, every character, and every friend was a devoted husband, father, and family man. Our hearts are with his beloved wife, Mara, and his daughter Sarissa, and all of his family and loved ones as they face this tremendous loss.

One of our last special moments with Mike was just this past weekend at our Cast Retreat. Like so many times before, he was there sharing stories, laughter, and fellowship with the community he loved so dearly. None of us could have known that those moments together would become some of our final memories with him, and we will forever cherish the time we spent by his side.

As a community, we mourn together. We remember the laughter around the campfire, the long days of preparation, the friendships built over the years, and the unwavering dedication Mike brought to Ravenwood. His presence was woven into the very fabric of this organization, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Thank you, Mike, for everything you gave to Ravenwood Faire and the Ravenwood Foundation. Thank you for your years of service, your countless volunteer hours, your generosity, your friendship, and your belief in what we were building together. Ravenwood is better because of you.

The cast and crew of Ravenwood Faire gathered at North Mountain Vineyard & Winery for their Cast Retreat!

This special weekend is all about bringing our community together, sharing ideas, planning for the future, and spending time with the incredible people who help make Ravenwood Faire possible. From brainstorming new adventures to strengthening old friendships, it’s a reminder that Ravenwood is so much more than an event, it’s a family.

You’ll be able to pre-purchase these beautiful mugs when you purchase a ticket for the Ravenwood Faire! We will also have them for sale at faire, while supplies last.

Registration deadline for Ravenwood Teen’s Camp is May 31.

This is an awesome camp that our foundation puts on for these teens.

Here’s a sneak peek at our activity lineup for June 15th-19th at the Frederick County Fairgrounds in Clearbrook, VA!

From horses, archaeology, robots, survival skills, leatherworking, fencing, art, baking, water games, and more… campers are in for an unforgettable week packed with creativity, learning, confidence building, and FUN. 🏹🎨🤖🐐🧁

Now that A MayDay Festival has come to an end, we’re officially entering full planning mode for the 2026 Ravenwood Faire season! ⚔️✨

For those of you who are new here, Ravenwood Faire is now held at North Mountain Vineyard & Winery in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Ravenwood Faire is the largest annual fundraiser for Ravenwood Foundation, helping support youth programs, camps, educational opportunities, and community initiatives throughout the year.

If you’d like to follow along with happenings at the grounds and venue throughout the year, we’d love to have you over on the winery page as well. 🍷🏰

We cannot wait to welcome everyone back for another magical season in 2026.
