APSU faculty and administration worked hard to create safe, productive, and engaging methods of performing in person. For this year's Honor Festival, we would like to share this experience with high school students! We are excited to announce a “Save The Date” and some broad concepts for our 2021 Honor Festival event. Please share these details with your students this week before the Winter Break. Thank you!
APSU Honor Festival Dates
Saturday, February, 20 2021 (Brass)
Saturday, February 27, 2021 (Woodwinds)
Sunday, February 28, 2021 (Percussion & Strings)
Accepted students will enjoy an IN-PERSON experience on our campus in a variety of safe and distanced activities including a masterclass, sectionals, and a culminating performance which will be recorded then processed by our post-production team into a full-ensemble product. This project will result in the SOUNDTRACK to a film, which will not only be an exciting experience for the students, but will provide a permanent memento of their performance.
Students will audition virtually in January by submitting pre-recorded videos, and are welcome to use videos they already have (regional honor bands, college auditions, distance-learning projects, etc.). While the event will be held over 3 separate days, individual students will only attend the ONE day pertinent to their instrument.
Over the winter break we will be working with our administration to finalize logistics, safety protocol, and student supervision issues for the Honor Festival. In the meantime, please SAVE THE DATE(S) and share this exciting opportunity with your students. We will announce the final details in early January soon after you begin the Spring Semester.
