I finally got around to putting my first two albums, A Dobro Dozen and Drifting With the Dobro, on CD. Actually, I finished the CD master a couple of years ago...it was the printed insert that I got side tracked with! These were originally recorded in 1971 and 1972; total of 24 Dobro instrumentals from the CDs. I also included a recent recording of Lorena. When I did the original recording, I don't remember if I didn't know the chorus, or possibly the back up musicians were not able to do the minor chords, so I only did the verse. I am currently moving my website to a different server, so it may not be available for a few days. It kept getting messed up on my previous server.

I just discovered that I actually CAN email my entire set of Dobro tablatures by sending them as 8 separate emails. This might be helpful to overseas customers, as postage for the printed set is outrageous.

I never made it to New River Ranch, but the first place I ever played on stage was Sunset Park with Alex & Ola Belle. The first video clip in the article is by Leon Kagarise...I bought my 1935 Dobro from him at Sunset Park in 1970...I still use it for recording. The 2nd video is a song by Ola Belle...I had forgotten this song...I thought...but for the past year or so, I've found myself picking the first part of this tune on guitar when I'm in between songs, and couldn't place what it was.

New River Ranch was a country music park near Rising Sun, Maryland, that saw some of the biggest names such as Ernest Tubb, Johnny Cash, and June Carter.
