CHRISTMAS ON THE CUMBERLAND RETURNS TO MCGREGOR PARK FOR 25TH YEAR ALONGSIDE NEW CHRISTKINDL MARKET

Market and lighting ceremony will be held on Nov. 18

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The glow of over a million dazzling lights will once again illuminate the banks of the Cumberland River with the return of Christmas on the Cumberland at McGregor Park, beginning Saturday, Nov. 18.

This year, the grand opening promises an entire day of festive celebrations, including the inaugural ChristKindl German Market sponsored by Marion Jewell - Keller Williams Realty - 931.648.8500 and Kim Weyrauch-Market Masters Group of Keller Williams Realty.

Kicking off at 11 a.m., Saturday, attendees will have the chance to immerse themselves in the magic of the season as they explore the German outdoor market. Featuring 30 artisan vendors, it promises a delightful array of authentic German food and beverages.

Among the offerings are traditional holiday drinks like cider, coffee, and cocoa, as well as the warmth of German glühwein served in unique souvenir mugs. Food enthusiasts will savor the flavors of bratwurst, quarkbällchen, schnitzel, and delectable German Christmas cookies.

The highlight of the evening, the annual lighting ceremony, is set to take place at 6 p.m.

The City of Clarksville’s Mayor Pro Tem, Councilperson Wanda Smith, will have the honor of illuminating the lights for the season. 5 Star Media Group will also coordinate the lighting of the display, with Rewind 94.3 becoming their Christmas music station for the holiday season.

Amanda Pitt, an Event Planning Specialist with Clarksville Parks and Recreation, expressed her excitement about the event, saying, “Bavarian holiday traditions are joyous, cozy, and centered around family. We wanted to bring that feeling to Clarksville with this event.”

PARKING
During the ChristKindle Market, parking will not be available inside McGregor Park except for ADA parking. Attendees of the event are encouraged to find alternate parking in the park's surrounding area, but please note that parking is not permitted at Two Rivers Business Center at any time, or at Riverside Drive businesses during their business hours.

The Christmas on the Cumberland light display will be open Sunday through Thursday, from 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5 to 11 p.m. until Jan. 2. Invite your family and friends to create lasting memories this season. For more information and event details, please visit
