See you noon to 3:00 today!!!
The elves are gearing up and are excited to report that Garrett Highlands Pipes and Drums and Montani Cantanti will be joining us again this year with festive, fantastic live entertainment!
The Garrett Highlands Pipes & Drums is a traditional Scottish military marching band, formed in 1979 by Fred A. Thayer, Charles P. Evans, and John Grant . Pipe Majors have included Thayer, Jerry McGee and presently, Paul Browning. It is proudly affiliated with the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department. Band members share many of the same interests and pastimes related to Scottish Highland traditions and enjoy participating in many regional events in the tri-state area surrounding Garrett County, MD. They are thrilled to perform for the second year, on November 29 at 10:30 am.
Montani Cantanti is West Virginia’s only chamber opera troupe founded by Sarah Nale and Joshua Stubbs. During the winter months, they provide professional, high quality, a ca****la music for holiday events while performing in Dickensian costumes. All degreed, trained singers, and with a repertoire of over 40 songs, they perform classic carol arrangements along with modern and secular favorites. Some of the audience pleasers are Carol of the Bells, O Holy Night, Rudolph, and It’s Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas. You may have seen them in years past perform at Stonewall Resort, Tamarak, Christmas at the Barn, the Robinson Grand, Heston Farms, Cody’s restaurant, and many holiday events in north-central WV.
The holiday carolers of Montani Cantanti are very excited to join the Festival of Trees this season on Saturday, November 29th from noon to 3:00pm. If you see them roaming around the event, stop and listen to a few songs. Feel free to take pictures, ask to pose with them, or even join along singing to your favorite holiday classics.
