Over the years, I’ve held onto a few pieces that mean a lot to me, but it’s time to let some of them find a new home where they can be fully appreciated.

This large Pegasus painting has always felt like something out of a storybook or gallery. Complete with an ornate frame, it is a real statement piece. It’s one of those works that instantly transforms a room.

So happy with how this little piece turned out 🦈💕 first hand carved piece in the books. There’s something about the tactility of wood whittling that has a way of quieting the mind a few more decibels than other mediums. Forming a piece of art out of a block of wood with your hands just hits different. The base is made with wood, river rock, and resin.

This piece started as a study and creation of stillness inside something that never actually stops moving. Sharks have to keep swimming to survive. Water is never truly still either. To stop is to almost stop being. That idea started to feel familiar in a way. Our culture runs on the same expectation. We’re encouraged to stay busy, keep producing, keep reaching those milestones. Movement becomes proof of existence. Rest feels dangerous and uncomfortable. Like if we slow down we’ll fall behind, or worse, disappear.

To me this piece evolved into a reminder that to be still is not to disappear. To be still is the chance to see things clearer, to breathe, and to give yourself patience. So be still when you need to be, take the breaks, enjoy the small moments.

It’s so much fun to experiment with new forms of art. I think it’s so important as an artist to practice the additive as well as deductive methods of creating artwork. Keeps the creative muscles strong 🥰 I got my first wood carving in the books! Work in progress, stay tuned for the finished piece! 🥰

This memorial dog portrait was created as a gift for a friend who lost her pup, and I’m always deeply honored when someone chooses my art to help remember a loved companion.
