The Loose Goose at Hookers Hideout Hooker’s Hideout is our home, the WE shed, and Jeep where we spend our time. I crochet and he fishes, hence, we are hookers.

The Loose Goose is run by Matt and April Ainsworth.

We have been so busy with so many things that Matt hasn’t had much of a chance to work on geese. We have sold all the “ugly” geese, so thank you all for that. We’re hoping to have more geese out soon and Halloween costumes available. The geese take work and can only be done in small batches. Matt works more than 40 hours a week, so weekends is the only time he has to make geese. We like to have fun on weekends though.

Our booth is pretty sad right now. There are no geese currently and the clothes have been picked to a bare minimum. WE HAVE PLANS so please be patient.

Geese will be $100 after the “ugly” ones are sold.

We doing an “ugly” sale in our booth $80 each. They are made and painted just like our other geese, but they have more air pockets on the surface. We only have these until they’re gone.

We have had a lot of people asking about us doing festivals. We have our booth inside Vintage Garage Antiques. Matt makes the geese and each one is about 55lbs. Imagine having to make 6 geese at a time which takes 2 hours to ensure quality. Then he has to remove each one from the mold 55lbs each. Then he has to water them everyday. If he’s not happy with the outcome, all that he has done is only worth the lesson of what not to do next time. Matt has a full time job and is technically on call 24/7. We still want to enjoy our lives and use our boat. Last year we went on the boat maybe 3-4 times. We have a young lady that comes to paint when we have them ready. She has her own life too with school and sports. I can’t do much with the geese because I can’t lift them and it takes too much out of me to paint them. Anyway, all of this is to say that we love our goose business, but rather than doing festivals, we are considering opening another booth at a wonderful place Big Shoals Junction. Just kind of giving you all background.
