Sorry this is a little late from the Market at the Park last week. I have been busy doing some home projects that needed done and some reading. Our Library has a great summer adult reading program and I love it. Our Market last week was again so wonderful, with a light North breeze and 13 vendors showing up. Of course, what little produce went very quickly. We still had lots of other items including those wonderful brown eggs that are now a part of our market. The CMS sandwich sale of Mill Creek made rites were luscious along with sweet watermelon. Look for our next CMS sandwich fund raiser in July. Iowa Coffee Cup was busy with people getting nice cool drinks, including me with a strawberry banana slush, to cool me off. We have a church doing activities for children, Gregg's Beautiful Bird Houses, I wish my house looked as great as the homes he creates for birds, lots of bakery items, crafts, and sweets from Durant. We had a medium crowd but what is important is the fellowship that continues on at our Market. People sitting in the picnic tables just enjoying the conversations outside. As the breeze started to go away, the bugs took over. Thankfully, the market was about over. In conversations, I met a man who heard about our market at the Tipton Market. Thank you to Tipton for supporting all Farmer's Markets. Also, thank you to all who entered the park at the right speed, SLOW, it makes it safer for those who walk across the road and children headed to the splash pad. I hope to see you at the park. All Thursdays this summer, except July 4th. This week: CHUCKIES!

Congratulations to the Clarence American Legion Poppy Poster Winners: 1st Brandi, 2nd Hallie, 3rd Levi, and Honorable Mention Alexandria. They were honored at the Legion Memorial Day services yesterday. The other 4 wonderful Posters that were not winners are posted in the windows of the Clarence Telephone office until Thursday. It was a hard decision as they were all so wonderful. Thank you to Parents and Grandparents who came to the service and to all the wonderful children who have so much talent in our town.

Poppy Posters: Just a note that the 4 Poppy posters that did not make the winners is now hanging up in the Clarence Telephone office. If you were not notified as a winner, make sure to send notes to family and friends of where your poster is hanging. If you are one of the children who created the poster, you may stop and take it off the window. I will be taking them down on May 28th and will hold them for a week.

Refection of Clarence: I have not done a reflection for a few weeks. As part of the Clarence Main Street Board and Chairman of Promotions, I want to say a huge thank you to all who continue to support our small businesses. January and February seem to be hard months for small businesses so keep them in mind. Even purchase a gift card for yourself or a gift for someone. With our Trivia Event coming January 27th at Victory Lane, I am looking for 3 members to join my team. Your cost is only what you want to drink and or eat. I am paying the table fee. At our recent meeting of Promotions, we are actively working on our next event, HOP into Clarence Saturday, March 23rd. We are changing our Vendor Fair to the American Legion which is near the Clarence Library where the Easter Bunny will be making a visit with treats. We are also confirming and finalizing our Market at the Park Food Trucks and events at the Park. We hope to bring new events like maybe some music. Our City is a great supporter of our Market in the Park and we have such a great park to hold this event. It will run from June 6th thru September 19th. We will not have a market on July 4th so families may get together to celebrate America's Birthday. I just can't express enough Thank Yous for our local support of our ESTABLISHED businesses AND OUR GREAT NEW ONES!
