All Blue: 3 members of the "blue fleet" test on the GE test track in September 2017. GE was heavily invested in the Tier 4 program and committed a whole fleet to it. They built a test bed locomotive, 2 demonstrators, and 25 blue fleet units to prove their design would not only work but be the best Tier 4 Locomotives out there. Known at first as EF44ACs, the production designation was ET44AC. The last one, 2044 was a pure production locomotive and carried the designation ET44C6. Many were sold off including to Canadian National and CPKC after testing and demonstrating was concluded.. Of the blue fleet 2023. and 2024 still call Wabtec Erie, home. GECX 2044 does as well but is now in Wabtec red. history railway green ecofriendly emissions

On October 26,1943 Western Pacific 2-6-6-2 #209 has found some trouble on the High Line south of Bieber at Archie. She was the lead locomotive with WP 2-6-6-2 #203 cut in 15 cars back when their train was hit by a string of Red River Lumber log flats that had gotten away at Halls Flat and crashed into #209 and her train. Both #209 and #203 were derailed in the collision. From the damage and the strewn lumber, she looks like she has also side-swiped flatcar loaded with lumber.
We can see why the mainline railroads did not like to share trackage with logging railroads.
