The center is owned by the City of Claremore and operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. The 80,000 square foot center cost approximately $7.1 million. Funds for the construction were generated from a temporary 1-penny sales tax. Operations and maintenance funds for the facility are generated by memberships, user groups, swim lessons, and activity fees. The Rec Center will be open normal hours tomorrow (from 5am-10pm). HOWEVER, the pool will be closed until the 2nd of February.
